So we have been discussing the beginnings of the atom, and now I want to know what you think.
-who were the main characters in the development of the atom
- Why were they vital to the development of the atom
_ what made them differnt if anything
- Think about your lessons in history and discuss how the time period that they lived in determined the outcome of their discovery/ or how it influenced those individuals to be the names that we know today (aka did it matter where they grew up or if they had money?)
- Why do we consider the atomic theory still a theory? What are the new developments- would love for you to share new sources here about what you find
- Why does it matter that we understand the structure of the atom

Due Date? Week of 9/20-9/24 depending on the day Chemistry sets- that includes your post and and a response to a classmate
-Democretus, Issac Newton, Dalton and many more made the idea for the atom
ReplyDelete- They made people think about it and search for ways to find out if atoms existed
-They simply thought differently, while people thought on terms of what they could see and observe, they thought of what you couldn't right then.
-In their time people didn't have microscopes for a time, they made people think of makeing the microscope. However, money and birth location had no real say in who would beleave or listen. You can't make someone beleive what they do not.
-The Atomic Theory is still a theory because you can't directly test it( the subjects are just to small!And it is dangerous to mess with what makes up everything.)
- If we don't understand the atoms structure we might as well be looking at an alien from another planet in the microscope! And we couldn't tell what the atoms properties are, We have to have a basis model of were the stuff is first to know where to find it.
-The contributors in the discovery of the atom were Rutherford who discovered the proton, Chadwick who discovered the neutron, Dalton who came up with the Atomic Theory, Thompson who discovered the Electron and Democritus.
ReplyDelete- They didn t had the advance stuff we have now so it was hard for them to find out everything
- They used different ways to show that there where atoms, one used gold foil paper and other made the periodic table.
- In this timer period people start to think about things and not clarify everything by there faith
- Because the atoms are so small that you can only see them when you look with a good microscope. So there are still much things we don t know about it so it is still a theory.
- Because it helps us to develop things, and to see of things are bad or not
